Thumbs Down

George Will, in the middle of a rant about denim (…?):

Seventy-five percent of American “gamers” — people who play video games — are older than 18 and nevertheless are allowed to vote. (emphasis mine)

He says this about a generation that literally grew up with video games.  It’s amazing that anyone can automatically associate video games with kids for the purpose of cranky dismissives after Grand Theft Auto, Saint’s Row, Counterstrike, Gears of War, etc, etc, without having been in a coma for the past 20 years.

Since Will evidently fails to distinguish between childish things & things that children (as well as adults) happen to enjoy, when can we expect him to follow up on this train of thought by…oh, I dunno, shutting what they call “the fuck up” about baseball?

BTW: I don’t like denim either, but that’s because it’s uncomfortable.  Sweatpants I wholeheartedly approve of.
