The elephant (not) in the room

For all the talk about the federal budget, this much is obvious: war is expensive.  At the moment, to varying degrees, the U.S. military is involved in three of them.  The latest, intervention in a civil war in Libya (thanks, whoever started this Wikipedia page, for acknowledging what it really is), has basically no support at home.  As a result, the GOP frontrunner to challenge Obama is making a point of not only criticizing the Libya intervention in particular, but the very idea of maintaining the U.S.’ bloated military in the face of endless deficits.

I’m kidding.  The GOP frontrunner according to some polls is a politically ambiguous reality TV star, who probably won’t even actually run, whose main issue is birth certificates & pissing off other celebrities.

Reality: stranger than fiction.
